Register in person with the Revenue Commissioner's office by 9:30 a.m. CST the day of sale; no online bidding platform. Tax sale may be cancelled without penalty up to ten days after sale. Fort Rucker / Enterprise / Elba Wiregrass market with military and agricultural employment.

Frequency

Annually in April — 1st/2nd Monday (Enterprise) and 1st/2nd Tuesday (Elba) at 10:00 a.m. CDT

Deposit rules

Register in person with the Revenue Commissioner's office no later than 9:30 a.m. Central on sale day (Enterprise 334-347-8734; Elba 334-897-2465). Payment method and any deposit set by the Revenue Commissioner for that sale year; bring government ID and cleared funds as directed. Sold AS IS under AL practice.

Title risk

Liens that survive the sale
At the certificate stage the buyer holds a lien, not clear title — owner redemption extinguishes the certificate (AL 3-year pattern common). After a tax deed issues, most private liens are cut off, but federal tax liens (IRS 120-day post-sale redemption) and some governmental assessments can survive. Confirm whether the county elected certificate vs. land-sale format for the sale year.
Quiet title
Practically recommended after a tax deed issues. Title companies often require a quiet title action (or equivalent judicial confirmation under Ala. Code Title 40) before insuring for resale.
